What is Poverty?
Poverty is defined as the condition of being poor with respect to money, goods or means of subsistence. It involves not having the absolute essentials for comfortable survival in todays world. Poverty is the lack of food, water, shelter, clothing, money, education and sanitation levels for an individual or even a large group. It is the state of being extremely poor or the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in amount, and is a large injustice and huge world problem for many people fighting for survival, today!
Types of Poverty
There are two main types of poverty, absolute and relative poverty. Both types of poverty are slightly different to each other but can be equally as fatal as one another.
Absolute poverty involves the situations of either a persons total income or no income at all being insufficient to maintain physical well being.
Relative poverty involves a persons income providing very minimal material for the needs of life.
